Sometimes, you need to take a break from weddings and do something different. As photographers I think it’s important to step outside the work that pays the bills and work on something a little different to learn new tricks and bring a fresh perspective to your work. In April I worked with an amazing creative team on a creative fashion editorial concept I had been sitting on for a while. I wanted to bring to life one of my favourite books by one of my favourite authors: The Paper Bag Princess, by Robert Munsch. I didn’t want to be too literal with actual dragons and took some liberties by using women for both the parts of the prince and the princess. I think the photos came out great and I revisited them recently, having learned and developed my style since April. These are the shots I’m most proud of.
